Hey everyone! This year, I was lucky enough to spend Thanksgiving outside the United States – I spent a week in Paris visiting my girlfriend on her study abroad! As awesome as it was to see her and all the sights (yes, we did all of the touristy things, like the Eiffel Tower), I was just as excited to see for myself what people listen to in France.
Some of the biggest names in electronic music call France their home, including the legendary duo Daft Punk, as well as David Guetta, Madeon, and Tchami. But, I was pleasantly surprised to hear none of them. To me, it’s the equivalent of someone coming to New York and hearing Jay Z nonstop. I already know who he is! The whole world knows who he is! Play me something cool that I probably haven’t heard at home!

Caro Emerald – Tangled Up (Yarin & Richwood Remix)
I absolutely love this track. “Tangled Up” has this electro-swing vibe that reminds me of playing at the Palms back in April with Kirk Cosier and Wes Laga. Wes has gotten me into electro-swing lately, and I honestly can’t stop dancing along. Expect to hear this track in my sets for the next few months!
Elin Rigby – By My Side
In a word, “By My Side” is…sexy. It oozes cool. The harmonies are reminiscent of Ellie Goulding at her peak, and the instrumentation screams electronica. I can’t wait to see what the chillstep/dubstep/trap producers are going to do with this one! [Read more…]
