It’s always nice to get away from the usual scene to play a gig, especially when it’s at the request of a friend. So, when Kirk Cosier called me to open up his show, I was too excited to say no! Kirk and I hadn’t played – or even seen – each other since we played at Pacha NYC’s basement for the Bingo Players back in December 2014, so I was excited for more reasons than one. He had been working on a lot of original material, and I had a few new technical tricks up my sleeve that I was itching to play around with. In the days before the show, I dug around to find the DJs I would be playing alongside, and I was far from disappointed. Wes Laga and Pan!c were accomplished Traktor performers and I was excited to see what they would bring to the table.
Following my traditional pre-gig dinner at Panera, I hit the road for Stamford. We had all planned on arriving early to set up and bounce some ideas around for the gig, and I was blown away. [Read more…]
